Frequently Asked Questions

All your questions about our workshops, podcast and team, answered in one place.

Workshops

The only thing typical in our workshops is that they’re fun. We will understand the challenge you’re grappling with and build the workshop, with the right material and time, to address that challenge.

Fun comes in a wide range: our sessions work well from 8 to 50 participants.

No, even better! We customise it for each company. For example, our workshop for McDonald’s will not be the same as the one for KFC.

Our workshops work well when delivered in person. But if you have a specific need we can discuss it.

Yes, we certify that every participant receives a completion certificate for their L&D records.

On the contrary, they’re highly interactive. You can’t become funny by watching a comedian. We share the principles and techniques and make you practise them — in exercises, role plays, case studies.

Psychological Safety

How do you make it easy for folks to speak up… about mistakes they’ve made, things they see that are wrong, ideas they have? Humour is a great, easy way to facilitate such psychological safety. That’s what this workshop is about.

Employee Engagement

It's a hands-on session about using humour to re-energise teams who've quietly (or loudly) checked out — rebuilding morale, participation, and a sense of connection to the work.

It's for any team that works together. It’s useful for teams showing signs of disengagement — low energy in meetings, minimal participation, long silences — but even teams that are generally energetic can benefit by learning how to work even better together and with more enjoyment.

Persuasive Communication & Client Relationships

When you add humour to logic and rationale you persuade much better; and using humour helps build trust. The workshop is about how to do this effectively, regularly.

Leadership Effectiveness

It shows how the two traits of Level 5 leaders — humility and humour — make them more effective and teaches how to acquire these traits to help managers reduce hierarchy, lead with more confidence, and become genuinely easier to follow.

It's aimed at team leads, managers, and senior leaders who want to build a more authentic, accessible leadership presence — in meetings, 1:1s, negotiations, and public speaking.

About Jest Business

Rahul Phondke and Paddy Rangappa — two former corporate leaders (P&G, McDonald's, Pizza Hut, and a German IT major between them) who turned years of humour writing into workshops, a podcast, and articles.

Rahul and Paddy spent years in the same rooms they now write about — sales floors, boardrooms, meetings that could've been emails. Jest Business is where that corporate experience and their humour-writing habit finally merged.

Yes — every session is facilitated by Rahul or Paddy (or both), not handed off to a generic trainer roster.

Yes — both are available individually for keynotes, speaking engagements, and guest appearances. Reach out via the contact page to discuss what you have in mind.

Schedule an appointment directly using the button on this page, or head to the contact page — Rahul or Paddy will get back to you personally.

"No jargon, just inspiration"

His communication is not diluted with jargon or buzz words and you always end up smarter (and more inspired) after talking to him. Paddy is also a talented and inspirational keynote speaker - his speaking engagements connect with the audience, effectively deliver messages and he adds just the right amount of humor and levity to any topic he presents. I'd highly recommend Paddy for any speaking engagements!

"Wonderful storytelling"

Paddy truly understands the importance of finding powerful insights that fuel big creative ideas. He understands how fragile ideas are, how to nurture them and inspire people to reach high for them. Paddy is an ideas person, he's walked the talk and been an integral part of teams that have developed breakthrough work. He has a real gift for communication making the most complicated subjects interesting and engaging due to his wonderful storytelling skills. I will always remember attending a big conference where the guest speaker failed to turn up at the 12th hour. Paddy fearlessly and confidently stepped in and had the whole audience captivated and waiting on his every word.

"Speaks our truth"

Paddy is known to be an engaging speaker. He is observant and insightful and can strip away the corporate jargon to reveal what's real and important about consumers and companies. And with his years of experience and exposure to corporations, his words speak the truth we often resist to admit to ourselves.

"A dose of Paddy is a real treat"

He communicates in a simple and humorous tone that leaves a deep impact on the audience and encourages them to embrace new ways of thinking. His stints across multiple organizations and cultures equip him with a vast set of experiences that he draws into to communicate effectively. Working with Paddy and listening to him is always a treat and I'd unhesitatingly recommend a dose of Paddy to anyone looking for new ways of motivating themselves and their teams.

"ROFL stuff"

His tongue perpetually in cheek, he brings wit and situational humor in a droll and charming manner. As my daughters would pithily comment "ROFL stuff"
